Port Blair: An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Ritcher scale jolted the Southeastern part of Port Blair. The tremors of the earthquake had a depth of 100 kilometers and occurred early morning today.

National Center of Seismology (NCS) reported that “Earthquake of Magnitude 4.3, occurred on 29-12-2021, 05:31:05, Lat: 10.26 and Long: 93.34, Depth: 100 km, Location: 165 km SSE of Portblair, Andaman and Nicobar Island”.

NCS also reported that an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Ritcher scale jolted near Bikaner. The tremors of this earthquake were 25 km deep. Following this an earthquake was also reported in Pakistan at 12 PM which had a magnitude of 4.3 and depth of 10 km.

Earlier, an earthquake of the similar magnitude had hit Southeast of Port Blair on November 8. However, its tremors had a depth of 16 km, unlikely deeper than the tremors of most quakes.
