New Delhi: India recorded 3,714 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 2,513 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,33,365. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.21 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 26,976 accounting for 0.06 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase by 1,194 cases in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent recorded 7 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,708. The seven new fatalities include six from Kerala and one from Punjab.
With the administration of 13.96 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 194.27 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.45 Cr (3,45,58,366) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. So far, 3,69,79,381 precautionary doses have been administered.
