New Delhi: India recorded 34,113 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.68 per cent accounted for 91,930 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,16,77,641. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.19 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 4,78,882 accounting for 1.12 per cent of the total number of cases.
The active cases reported a drop by 58,163 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 346 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,09,011. The total active case load of the worst hit state Maharashtra stood at 49,876 while the national capital logged 3,926 active cases in total. In the past 24 hours both the states have reported a drop in the active infection by 6,330 and 405 respectively.
The health bulletin documented 172.95 crore cumulative vaccinations under the nationwide vaccination drive, including 11.66 lakh administrations in the past 24 hours. More than 171.17 crore (1,71,17,50,960) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 12.25 Cr (12,25,70,646) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
