New Delhi: Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced today that primary schools shall reopen on November 9 and restriction on activities in schools shall be removed as Delhi’s air quality has improved.

“There has been an improvement in air quality in the past two days. Yesterday and today, the AQI has fallen to 350. In subtle burning counts as well, there’s a reduction and wind direction has changed”, said the minister. He further revoked the work-from-home order for government staff.

“Heath advisory for general public with the deteriorating air quality in Delhi”, tweeted the Delhi Pollution Control Committee.

Meanwhile, the centre’s pollution watchdog CAQM has now lifted the ban on plying of non-BS VI diesel-run loght motor vehicles on Delhi-NCR, entry of trucks into national capital.

Earlier in August 2022, WHO surveyed the air quality of 1650 world cities including Delhi that revealed Delhi to be the worst of any major city in the world.
