New Delhi: India recorded 30,615 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.94 per cent accounted for 82,988 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,18,43,446. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.45 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 3,70,240 accounting for 0.87 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 52,887 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 514 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,09,872.

The total active case load of the worst hit state Maharashtra stood at 34,523 while the national capital logged only 79 active cases in total. The third wave of COVID-19 in India has been plateauing. The number of cases started declining after January 21, when 3,47,254 infections were reported. According to experts, India’s daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for nine consecutive day for long now.

With the administration 41.54 lakh Doses (41,54,476) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 173.86 cr (1,73,86,81,675) according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
