New Delhi: India reported 30,570 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.64  per cent accounted for 38,303 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,25,60,474. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.94 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 17 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 3,42,923 accounting for 1.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 8,164 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 413 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,43,928.

According to Sujeet Singh, Director of the National Centre for Disease Control, the pandemic would turn into an endemic in India in the next 6 months.  He says that the infection would become more manageable and easier on the health infrastructure. On PM Modi’s birthday on Sept 17, the nation would witness another mega vaccination drive across BJP run states. BJP leaders plan to promote the jabs and double the daily vaccination rate to celebrate Narendra Modi’s achievements on his 71st birthday.

India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 76.57 crores, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 64.51 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
