New Delhi: India reported 30,256 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.72 per cent accounted for 43,938 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,27,15,105. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.57 per cent, less than 3 per cent for the 21st consecutive day.
The number of active cases stood at 3,18,181 accounting for 0.95 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 13,977 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 295 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,45,133.
The leading state, Kerala reported 19,653 fresh infections in the past 24 hours that took the confirmed cases to 45,08,493. Out of the 14 districts in the state, Ernakulam recorded the highest rise with 2,810 cases while Allapuzha reported 1270 infections. The southern belt comprising of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka reported a surge while Telangana recorded a huge drop with just 173 cases in a day. Four big states Rajasthan, MP, UP, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand reported zero COVID Deaths informed the respective state health bulletins. Mizoram in an interrupted pattern continues to record a drastic surge amongst the several other northeastern states.
India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage crossed 80.85 crores on Sunday. Nearly 37.79 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
