New Delhi: The Noida Authority office on Thursday in presence of representatives of the residents’ groups of the two adjoining societies, demolition firm Edifice Engineering, local police, and the fire department on Thursday finalized the demolition strategy for the Supertech Twin Towers claimed to violate norms.
The nearly 100-metre-tall twin towers will be razed on 28th August at 2:30 pm in the afternoon. As per sources in the know, explosive placement is on full swing and one tower is completely rigged. The charging — rigging of skeletal structures with explosives — was started on August 13 and completed in the Ceyane tower on Wednesday. The work on Apex tower is underway. The charging process is expected to be completed next week,” an official said.
Ceyane is the smaller of the two towers and had 29 floors constructed when work was stopped on it. Apex is the taller tower with 32 floors constructed. Both the residential towers were supposed to have 40 storeys.
Officials have instructed residents of the Emerald Court and ATS Village apartments to vacate their residents by 7 am on August 28th and can return only after 4 pm when safety clearance is issued by the demolition firm. “Entry of people, vehicles and animals will be restricted in the close proximity area of the twin towers in Sector 93A,” it stated.
As per the plan the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, which is close to the twin towers, will remain unavailable for vehicular movement from 2.15 pm to 2.45 pm on August 28.
The Noida authority has decided to provide assistance to those facing parking issues. It has also engaged emergency service providers like fire tenders, ambulances and paramedics shall there be any untoward situation.
