New Delhi: India reported 25,404 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.58 per cent accounted for 37,127 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,24,84,159. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.78 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 15 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 3,62,207 accounting for 1.09 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 12,062 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 339 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,43,213.

While Kerala continued to record a surge, in the last 24 hours it reported only 15,058 cases, which was lower than the cumulative range. Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported only 2,740 infections. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar. Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand reported zero COVID deaths in the past 24 hours. Whereas Mizoram in the Northeast continued to report the highest number of daily cases.

 India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage crossed 75 crore landmark, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 78.66 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. According to Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, India would be 43 per cent vaccinated by the end of this year.
