New Delhi: India reported 22,842 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.87 per cent accounted for 25,930 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,30,94,529. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.80 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 34 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 2,70,557 accounting for 0.81 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 3,332 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 244 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,48,817.
Amidst the striking surge, the Kerala govt has decided to re-open movie theatres and auditoriums with 50 per cent occupancy from October 25 permitting only those vaccinated completely. The State Health department has decided to re-open educational institutions from October 18 permitting fully vaccinated students.
India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 90.51 crores, the Union Health Ministry. Nearly, 73.76 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. As per the information given in by ICMR, 57.32 crore infected samples have been tested cumulatively.
