New Delhi: A minor girl was raped and threatened by her 22-year-old cousin. The accused has been detained by the police and a case has been registered under the POSCO Act and sections 376 and 506 of IPC. The incident came to light when the family of the victim approached the police officials at Kotla Mubarak Pur Police Station for help with the girl’s statement.
The incident is reported to have occurred two months ago when the victim’s mother was on a visit to her maternal home in UP. The family of the victim resides in Bapu park, Kotla Mubarak Pur and the victim was staying alone. The accused who also stays in the same area took chance in this situation and raped the 15-year-old girl and threatened her not to disclose the incident. However, the victim revealed the incident to her parents following which they lodged a complaint against their kin.
Sources report investigations for the crime are underway after the accused was picked up from his residence by a four-member team from Kotla Mubarak Pur Police station.
