New Delhi: India reported 21,257 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.86 per cent accounted for 25,455 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,30,68,599. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.53 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 39 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 2,40,221  accounting for 0.71 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 3,977 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 271 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,45,127.

Kerala which stood first amongst all states accounted for 56% of the national COVID tally centre reported. The Northeastern region of India emerges as a major concern after Mizoram crossed One lakh COVID Cases on Wednesday. The central team deployed accessed the situation in the state. Five states across the nation namely Kerala, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur and Meghalaya are reporting weekly positivity rates of over five per cent.

India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 93.17 crores, the Union Health Ministry. Nearly, 50.17 crores beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
