New Delhi: India recorded 20,551 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 21,595 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,45,624.
The daily positivity rate stood at 5.41 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,35,364 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,114 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 70 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,600. The 70 new fatalities include seven from Maharashtra, four each from Delhi and West Bengal, three each from Karnataka and Punjab, two each from Manipur, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh and one each from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Uttarakhand. Additionally, 26 deaths have been reconciled by Kerala as per guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research.
With the administration of 36,95,835 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 205.59 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
