Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Azad Maidan Unit has arrested two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 80 grams of mephedrone worth Rs. 8 Lakh.
According to the Azad Hind Unit, a tip was recived that mephedrone was being sold at Nagpada and Kamathipura area. A team was dispatched and they spotted the accused. ANC officials said that the two are local peddlers who have been arrested earlier as well. But after being released on bail they began peddling drugs again.
A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act. “Both the accused have a criminal background of peddling. One of them has four cases earlier and another one was arrested in two cases earlier,” officials added.
