New Delhi: India recorded 2,35,532 fresh infections in the past 24 hours The recovery rate at 93.89 per cent accounted 3,35,939 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,83,60,710. The daily positivity rate stood at 13.39 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 20,04,333 accounting for 4.91 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop by 1,01,278 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent reported spike in deaths recording 871 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,93,198.

Out of all states, Kerala has been the major contributor in the infected cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karnataka with 31,198 cases, Tamil Nadu with 26,533 cases, Maharashtra with 24,948 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 12,561 cases. Worst hit state Maharashtra recorded the sharpest rise in its death toll taking 103 lives in 24 hours.
