New Delhi: India recorded 19,893 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 20,419 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,24,029.
The daily positivity rate stood at 4.94 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,36,478 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 579 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 53 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,530. The 53 new fatalities include seven from Maharashtra, five from Delhi, four each from Assam, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal, three each from Punjab and Uttarakhand, two from Karnataka and one each from Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, 15 deaths are reconciled by Kerala as per guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research
With the administration of 38,20,676 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 205.22 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
