New Delhi: India reported 19,740 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.98 per cent accounted for 23,070 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,32,48,291. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.56 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 40 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 2,36,643 accounted for 0.70 per cent of the total number of cases .The actives cases reported a decline of 3,977 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 271 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,45,127.
Kerala, Maharashtra, Mizoram – the most affected states continued to record increase in the infection count. Meanwhile, the National Capital observed zero deaths in the past 24 hours and 39 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.
India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 93.99 crores, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 79.12 crores beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
