New Delhi: India recorded 18,815 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.51 per cent accounted for 15,899 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,29,37,876. The daily positivity rate stood at 4.96 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at  1,22,335 accounting for 0.28 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 2,878 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 38 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,343.

With the administration of 17.62 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 198.51 crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, over 3.72 crore children between 12-13 years have been vaccinated since March 16th, 2022. A total of 4,87,49,908 precautionary doses have been administered including 2,56,00,650 doses to adults over 60 years of age.

A total of 86.57 crore samples have been tested by ICMR since the inception of the pandemic. In the past 24 hours, 3,79,470 infected samples were tested.
