New Delhi: India recorded 17,135 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.49 per cent accounted for 19,823 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,03,610.
The daily positivity rate stood at 3.69 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,37,057 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,735 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 47 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,477. The 47 new fatalities include five from Maharashtra and Rajasthan, four from West Bengal, three each from Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Uttarakhand, two each from Himachal Pradesh, Manipur and Punjab, one each from Chandigarh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Pondicherry and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, 12 deaths have been reconciled by Kerala.
With the administration of 23,49,651 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 204.84 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
