Bhopal: Dr. Y K Gupta, President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal announced that about 170 diagnostic tests will be conducted for free in the hospital after Dussehra. As a Diwali gift, AIIMS has declared all the tests up to Rs 50 free of cost for common patients. It would add to a financial burden of Rs 8 to Rs 10 crore on the hospital.
Dr. Gupta also held meetings with AIIMS director Dr. Sarman Singh and other officials and brainstormed on how to make the treatment of patients better in the hospital. Experts and health officials are advising people to adhere to Covid norms. However, thousands of devotees thronged the Kankali Mata Mandir at Gudawal villahe in Raisen district (about 20 kms from Bhopal).
Although the members of the temple committee were making non-stop announcements urging people to maintain adequate social distancing and not to remove their masks, very few people paid heed. Around 60 volunteers of the temple committee and tehsil officials were helping to educate people.
While AIIMS is taking a step forward towards improving healthcare facilities in the city, many still fail to adhere to the basic Covid norms in the city.
