New Delhi: India recorded 1,685 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 2,499 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,78,087. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.24 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 21,530 accounting for 0.05 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 897 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 83 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,16,755.

With the administration of 29.82 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 182.55 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 90 lakh (90,06,782) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the health ministry, more than 184.12 crore (1,84,12,85,555) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Over 16.45 Cr (16,45,41,016) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, it added.
