New Delhi: India recorded 16,299 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.53 per cent accounted for 19,431 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,35,55,041.
The daily positivity rate stood at 4.58 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,25,076 accounting for 0.28 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 6,792 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 53 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,879.
With the administration of 25,75,389 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 207.29 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry, more than 198.34 crore (1,98,34,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 7.21 Cr (7,21,49,850) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
