New Delhi: India recorded 16,047 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.52 per cent accounted for 19,539 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to4,35,35,610.
The daily positivity rate stood at 4.94 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,28,261 accounting for 0.29 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 6,792 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 54 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,826. The national capital recorded 7 virus related fatalities, highest in nearly 180 days, while the single day infections rose to 2,495, according to the health department data shared on Tuesday. Kerala reported seven reconciled deaths. The other deaths were reported from Maharashtra and Punjab, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Mizoram. Two each were reported from Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and UP. Gujarat, Jharkhand, Nagaland and Gujarat reported one each.
With the administration of 15,21,429 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 207.03 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
