New Delhi: India reported 15,981 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 98.08 per cent accounted for17,861 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,33,99,961. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.73 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 47 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 2,01,632 accounting for 0.59 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 2,046 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 166 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,51,980.
The National capital in the past 24 hours reported zero deaths, as per the state health bulletin. Kerala, the second worst hit recorded 8.867 new cases and 67 deaths on Friday. Citing the return of normalcy amidst festive season experts have cautioned against llaxaity.
India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 97.23 crore, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 8.36 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. As per the data accumulated by ICMR, nearly 58,98,35,258 infected samples have been tested cumulatively. In the past 24 hours 9,23,003 infected samples were tested.
