India recorded 14,313 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported.
The recovery rate at 98.19 per cent accounted for 13,543 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,36,41,175. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.22 per cent, less than 2 per cent since the past 26 days.
The active caseload stands at 1,61,555 accounting for 0.47 per cent of the total number of cases. 221 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 549 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,57,740.
Uttar Pradesh (UP) has become the first state in India to administer 13 crore doses of the COVID vaccine. “Today UP has become the first state in the country to provide a protective cover of 13 crore doses of Covid vaccine. The historic achievement is dedicated to the guidance of respected Prime Minister, the commitment of Corona warriors, and disciplined public cooperation”, tweeted the chief minister.
UP has logged eight fresh Covid cases while 12 recovered and discharged in the last 24 hours.
