New Delhi: India recorded 1,421 infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 1,826 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,82,262. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.23 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 16,187 accounting for 0.04 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 554 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 149 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,004. The majority of the deaths reported in the past 24 hours are accounted as backlog deaths reported by the health ministry of Kerala.
With the administration of 29.90 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 183.20 crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the ministry, more than 2.25 Crore(2,25,46,500) precaution doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and people over 60 years) for Covid-19 have been administered so far. Over 1.20 crore children under 14 years have been immunized under the 12+ vaccination program administering CorbEvax.
