Uttarakhand: The Uttarakhand government issued new Char Dham yatra guidelines on Wednesday. Registration and an e-pass will be required for ‘darshan,’ according to the state administration. The Uttarakhand government stated in its standard operating procedures (SOPs) to stop the spread of COVID-19 that devotees must have either both doses of Covid-19 vaccine or a negative RT-PCR report (not older than 72 hours) if they aspire to visit the Char Dham.
On October 5th, a Division Bench of Chief Justice R S Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma lifted the daily limit on the number of devotees allowed to visit the temples of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. According to the previous order, the HC allowed approximately 1000 devotees to visit Badrinath every day, while 800 were allowed to visit Kedarnath, 600 Gangotri, and 400 Yamnotri.
The pilgrims will have to upload their identity card and negative RT-PCR/ vaccination report to get the e-pass. The devotees have been asked to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols while undertaking the pilgrimage that ends on November 4th.
