There is great news for the Indian youth as the applications for technical graduate courses in the Indian Army have been called. Engineers are going to get an opportunity to serve the Indian Army with a salary ranging from Rs 56,100 to Rs.2 lakh 25 thousand. For this recruitment, the application process has begun from the Indian Army by issuing a notification for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC 140) for unmarried men with a minimum age of 20 years and a maximum age of 27 years. Age will be calculated keeping in mind the date of 1st January 2025. There are no fees for the course as the government handles the expenses.

Candidates are required to submit proof of passing their Engineering examination within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Indian Military Academy (IMA). All final-year appearing candidates whose final semester exam will be scheduled after January 1, 2025, are not eligible to apply for this role. 

The candidate applying for the post must be between the age group 20-27 years as on January 1, 2025. 

The course is set to begin in January 2025. Candidates interested in the permanent commission in the Indian Army can apply for the released vacancy through the official website of the Indian Army.

It has released a total of 30 seats across various engineering streams, i.e., Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Science. Engineers are offered seven seats each under this course. It is followed by Electronic Engineer–four seats and Electrical Engineer–three seats. The selected candidates will be commissioned at the post of Lieutenant. Unmarried male engineer graduates can apply. Candidates who have engineering degrees in relevant trades/branches, candidates who are studying final year or semester of engineering can also apply to join this recruitment.

Under the selection process, arrangements have been made for screening tests, interviews, and medical examinations. The deadline to complete the online application is May 9, 2024. Cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant on successful completion of the training. Candidates will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor would they be allowed to live with parents or guardians. The shortlisted candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at IMA Dehradun. The entire cost of training in Dehradun will be borne by the government.
