New Delhi: India reported 13,596 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, Union Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 98.12 per cent accounted for 19,582 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,34,39,331. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.37 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 49 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 1,89,694 accounting for 0.56 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 6,152 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 166 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,52,290.
The capital of the worst-hit state Maharashtra reported zero deaths on Sunday, the civic body reported. The financial capital had reported its first COVID-19 case on 11th March 2020 and its first death within six days.

India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 97.79 crore, the Union Health Ministry reported. Nearly, 12.05 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. As per the data accumulated by ICMR, nearly 59.19 crore infected samples have been tested cumulatively. In the past 24 hours 9,89,493 infected samples were tested.
