New Delhi: India recorded 13,272 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.58 per cent accounted for 13,900 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,36,99,435.

The daily positivity rate stood at 4.21 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,01,166 accounting for 0.23 per cent of the total number of cases. A drop of 664 was reported in the last 24 hours.

However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 36 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,289. The 36 new deaths include five each from Maharashtra and West Bengal; three each from Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Karnataka; two each from Bihar, Punjab and Rajasthan; and one each from Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. 6 reconciled deaths were reported from Kerala.

With the administration of 13,15,536 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 209.40 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 200.02 crore (2,00,02,25,975) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 7.03 Cr (7,03,49,830) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
