New Delhi: Here is a good news for marginal farmers ahead of the Diwali festival. The central government is expected to release the 12th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana (Scheme) this month. Under this scheme, the government provides income support to all landholding farmer families in the country to help them meet their agricultural, financial as well as home needs.
Families of farmers who own land will get financial support of Rs 6,000 per year, which is paid in three instalments of Rs 2,000 between 17th and 18th October.
This scheme implemented from 1st December 2018 is proving to be a boon for marginal farmers. The state governments provide the holdings of such farmers along with their bank accounts and other details to the central government. After its confirmation, the central government directly deposits money in the bank accounts of such farmers. The role of digital system is proving to be crucial in the success of the scheme.
