New Delhi: India recorded 12,456 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.53 per cent accounted for 13,086 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,28,91,933. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.90 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 1,14,475 accounting for 0.26 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 611 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 19 virus-related fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,242.
With the administration of 11.44 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 198.09 crores according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry, more than 3.69 Cr (3,69,96,932) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine under the 12+vaccination drive. 4,72,33,678 beneficiaries so far have been administered the precaution dose.
