New Delhi: India recorded 11,499 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. With this, the country recorded its daily COVID-19 cases under one lakh for the 20th consecutive day.
The recovery rate at 98.52 per cent accounted for 23,598 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,22,70,482. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.01 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 1,21,881 accounting for 0.28 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 12,354 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 255 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,13,481.
With the administration of 28.29 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 177.13 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
More than 174.71 crore (1,74,71,26,630) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category, the health ministry stated. Over 11.80 Cr (11,80,57,557) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.
