New Delhi: India recorded 11,466 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.25 per cent accounted for 11,961 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,37,87,047. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.90 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 37 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 1,39,683 accounting for 0.41 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 955 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 460 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,61,849. Amongst the total fatalities reported Kerala, holds the major deaths of 384 while, worst hit state Maharashtra recorded only 27 deaths.

Over 109.63 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, including 52.69 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours.

In order to ramp up the vaccination programme against COVID-19 further, the West Bengal government has decided to initiate a house-to-house campaign to identify beneficiaries who are yet to be administered the first dose of the vaccine.
