New Delhi: India recorded 11,451 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.24 per cent accounted for 13,204 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,37,63,104. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.32 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 35 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 1,42,826 accounting for 0.42 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 2019 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 266 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,61,057.
Second worst hit state, Kerala has been recording gruelling rise in its COVID graph. In the last 24 hours, the state recorded 7,124 fresh infections. Over 108.47 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, including 23.84 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours.
The global count for Covid cases are approaching the 250 million-mark as the surge from the Delta variant eases and more normal trade and tourism resume, reported a reputed international agency.
