New Delhi: India recorded 1,109 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,213 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,00,002. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.24 per cent.
Following a continuous trend, the number of active cases stood at 11,492 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. A drop of 147 was recorded in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.21 per cent reported 43 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,573.
India on Thursday crossed the cumulative vaccination count beyond 185.38 crores with the administration of COVID-19 vaccine to 16.80 lakh beneficiaries in the last 24 hours. Under the 12+ vaccination drive, more than 2.11 Cr (2,11,28,977) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 2,40,48,124 individuals including HCWs, FLWs and adults above 60 years are administered the precautionary dose.
