New Delhi: On Saturday, Amit Shah, Union Home Minister announced that 11 new Pressure Swing Adsorption(PSA) oxygen plants have been set up in Gujarat. He said, “A special campaign has been launched across the country to provide oxygen from the PM Care fund as part of which 11 new PSA oxygen plants have been set up in Gujarat”.
He further added that some extra amount of oxygen is also produced in Gujarat. It will be delivered to other states.
On the same day, Shah also inaugurated an oxygen plant at the Ayurvedic Hospital in Kolwadi village. On Friday, the Minister reviewed the Covid situation of the country. Due to the surge in Covid-19 cases, the hospitals were facing a huge oxygen crisis. The patients were left gasping for breath. Shah has also given directions for various measures to increase the supply of oxygen for medical purposes.
A major report stated that the Minister also went to review the preparedness of Dhanvantari Covid Hospital in Ahmedabad where 950 normal beds and 250 ICU beds are there. The pandemic has devastated the whole country to a large extent. India recorded 3,46,786 active Covid-19 cases and 2624 deaths in a single day.
