Nashik: At least eleven people including a child died after a Mumbai-bound bus caught fire in Maharashtra’s Nashik on late Friday night. 38 people have been taken to hospital as the incident took place near Nadua naka at Nashik at around 5:30 AM today morning.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wxpressed grief about the tragedy and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. Further, he announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next kin of each deceased and Rs 50000 for those injured.

“We are still trying to ascertain the exact number of deaths with doctor’s confirmation”, said Nashik Police.

The bus was coming from Yavatmal when it met an accident. Chief minister Eknath Shinde has announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for each to the next of kin of those who died in this accident.
