New Delhi: India recorded 10,273 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.54 per cent accounted for 20,439 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,22,90,921. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.00 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 1,11,472 accounting for 0.26 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 10,409 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 243 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,13,481. Maharashtra with 1,43,687 mortalities recorded the highest death toll while southern state Kerala stood second with 64,980. 39,900 deaths from Karnataka, 38,000 from Tamil Nadu, 26,117 from Delhi, 23,447 from Uttar Pradesh and 21,169 from West Bengal were recorded which majorly contributed to the cumulative count.
With the administration of 24.05 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 177.44 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
