New Delhi: India recorded 10,197 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.28 per cent accounted for 12,134 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,38,73,890. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.82 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 44 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 1,28,555 accounting for 0.37 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 2238 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.35 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 301 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,64,153.
Mizoram which leads northeastern states with most number of daily cases, logged 459 new cases and 1 death in the past 24 hours. A night curfew has been imposed in Jammu from today due to the rising COVID-19 cases and the increasing positivity rate beyond 0.2 per cent.
Over 113.68 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, including 67.82 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours.
As per ICMR, 12.42 lakh infected samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far 62.70 crore samples have been tested.
