Mann Ki Baat a radio show patronized by PM Modi hit a 100 today. Mann Ki Baat- a monthly radio program that is aired every Sunday, featured its 100th episode where PM Modi recollected several moments from his past addresses. In his opening remarks, PM Modi thanked the people of the country for making it a huge success. ” Mann Ki Baat has been a catalyst in igniting numerous mass movements, be it ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ or ‘Catch the Rain’, Mann Ki Baat has enabled mass movements to gain momentum, he said.
“Mann ki Baat has become a festival that celebrates the positivity of India and its people,” he mentioned and added he was filled with emotions at the thousands of letters he received from listeners on the occasion of its 100th episode. He also had a telephone conversation with some people who were featured earlier on the broadcast for their unique initiatives.
The Tourism Ministry has announced “100 days of action” to mark the 100th episode of the monthly radio show. The activities include a design challenge for entrepreneurs to develop substitutes for single-use plastic items.
The first episode of the show was aired on October 3rd, 2014, the year BJP rose to power after the UPAs 10 year rule, and Modi-led BJP took over. It highlights the government and citizen action in priority areas and in turn encourages listeners to establish or participate in change-making initiatives in their own communities, with the aim to have a lasting and sustainable impact on the lives of people and the country. It also emphasizes the role of start-ups and small businesses in achieving a self-reliant India. It encourages people of all walks to take action to promote social and environmental causes.
