Kashmir: A civilian was killed and 21 people were injured on Sunday in a grenade attack on security forces, allegedly by militants, in the Amira Kadal Lalchowk area, Srinagar. A police officer told India today that militants attacked a joint team of police and security forces with a grenade. The injured people were rushed to a hospital. Their condition is said to be stable, the officer added. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off to arrest the attackers.

The identity of the slain was not immediately known. According to the police official, “At about 4:20 pm, terrorists hurled a grenade at the security forces deployed at Hari Singh High street.” The injured received splinter injuries and were rushed to the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital.
