New Delhi: India recorded 1,72,433 fresh infections in the past 24 hours The recovery rate at 95.14 per cent accounted 2,59,107 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,97,70,414. The daily positivity rate stood at 10.99 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 15,33,921 accounting for 3.67 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop by 87,682 in the last 24 hours.
The financial capital of India, on Wednesday reported over 1,000 cases after a gap of two days, nearly 40% more than on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the third wave seems to be weaning from the national capital as the positivity rate drops below 5 per cent. In the last 24 hours 3,028 fresh infections were reported in the city.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent reported spike in deaths recording 1008 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,98,983. This included a backlog of 355 deaths in Kerala.
The health bulletin documented 167.87 crore cumulative vaccinations under the nationwide vaccination drive, including 55.10 lakh administrations in the past 24 hours.
