Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express (Train No. 22850) derailed near Nalpur Station in West Bengal’s Howrah on Saturday morning. No casualties or major injuries have been reported, according to the chief public relations officer of South Eastern Railway.
The railway officials arrived at the spot and passengers are being rescued from the derailed coaches. Several passengers have sustained minor injuries.
According to the railways, there has been no major damage, and no casualties so far, and only one or two passengers have sustained minor injuries. As per reports, among the three derailed coaches, one was a parcel van and two were passenger coaches which were derailed on Saturday.
Earlier on October 12, a passenger train, travelling at 75 kmph, hit a stationary goods train on Friday, in Tamil Nadu, at around 8:30 pm. The train entered a loop line instead of the main line, following which at least 12 coaches derailed, leaving several passengers injured, railway officials said. A power car also caught fire. Train 12578 Mysuru – Darbhanga Bagmati Express collided with a goods train at Kavaraippettai railway station in Tiruvallur district, near Chennai.
