Six days in and ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ (Hindi) has continued its credible run at the box office. As per Box Office India, the film collected over Rs. 19 crores on Tuesday and saw a 25% drop compared to Monday, Day #5 but is still well on course to cross the whopping Rs. 250 cr. mark by the end of the first week.
Clocking Rs. 235 crores mark on Day 6th, the film is highly likely to beat ‘Baahubali 2’ for the first-week collection record. The Hindi version of the movie did a business of 53.95 crores on its release day, 46.79 crores on Friday, 93.25 crores over the weekend, and 25.57 crores on Monday, 19.14 crores on Tuesday. All eyes will then turn to the Friday box office as it will hold the key to the film’s overall box office collection.
‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has benefitted from the Thursday release, allowing it an additional day to shine at the box office and also take the top spot in a number of regards. Aside from being the biggest opener for a Hindi film with Rs. 53 crores, the film also holds the records for being the best second-day collection, best weekend figures, best Sunday and four-day figures in the Hindi belt. Similarly, the original Kannada version too has outshined all its predecessors and now holds the distinction of being the biggest opener in the history of Kannada cinema, aside from a number of other accolades.
Yash-starrer action flick is a sequel to the hit film ‘KGF’ made in 2018. The movie also sees A-class celebrities, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. Raveena has played the role of Prime Minister Ramika Sen, while Sanjay Dutt has become the dangerous villain Adheera.
