The nominations of the 94th Academy Awards have just been announced. In the Best Documentary Feature category was the Indian documentary Writing with Fire. Besides Writing with Fire, other nominees in the Best Documentary Feature category include Ascension, Attica, Flee and Summer of the Soul (Or When the Revolution Could not be Televised).
The documentary film has been making headlines since it won the Special Jury (Impact for Change) and Audience awards at the Sundance Film Festival in January last year. And since then, it has bagged more than 20 international awards.
Fans and celebs took to Twitter and reacted to the news of Jai Bhim are not making it to the Oscars. While one netizen wrote, “Winning or losing is part of the game but #JaiBhim deserved to be in the best picture nomination list. Huge disappointment”, the other fan commented, “Although #JaiBhim didn’t make it to the final list of #Oscars It created an impact – Great win.”
Actor Tracee Ellis Ross and actor Leslie Jordan hosted the Oscar Nominations 2022, as the candidates are revealed for the 23 award categories that make up this year’s edition. 2022 Oscar Nominations Live stream is available on their official social media handles, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube along with their official website. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences considered the films released between March 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021.
