Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film titled “Leo” showed performance at the Indian box office on its day, crossing the coveted ₹100 crore mark as reported. The movie stars Vijay in a leading role and marks the anticipated collaboration between him and the director following their successful 2021 blockbuster “Master.”

On its opening day, “Leo” garnered ₹64.8 crore in earnings with contributions from language versions including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. The earnings on Thursday were distributed as follows; Tamil. ₹48.96 crore, Telugu. ₹12.9 crore, Hindi. ₹2.8 crore and Kannada. ₹14 crore.

Early estimates for the film’s day suggest that “Leo” managed to accumulate ₹36 crore net across India in all languages combined. Consequently, the total earnings reached a figure of ₹100.80 crores.

In Tamil Nadu, “Leo” enjoyed an occupancy rate of 66.85% on Friday, which serves as a testament to Vijay’s dedicated fan base. Alongside Vijay’s performance, notable actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, and Arjun Sarja also feature in the film.

Superstar Rajinikanth also expressed his hopes for the success of the film stating, “I sincerely hope that the movie becomes a hit.”

To ensure a release, Seven Screen Studios Production filed a petition with the Madras High Court to allow early morning screenings from 4 am in cinema halls across Tamil Nadu on the day of its release.

As “Leo” made its way to theaters, fans celebrated with enthusiasm. Videos emerged showing fans dancing, setting off fireworks, and organizing motorbike rallies adorned with Vijay’s posters.

The jubilant atmosphere around cinema halls displayed the unbridled joy of fans as they eagerly watched the film. In several locations, fans swarmed theaters in large numbers, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere to mark the release of the Vijay-starrer.
