Mumbai: The new film The Taj Story by Paresh Rawal has been in theatres since October 31 and even though it has witnessed a slight decline on weekdays, the film has maintained a consistent performance at the box office. Having received a respectable response during the weekend, the movie has been able to keep the audience hooked due to its captivating plot and the strong acting by Rawal.

The Taj Story made about 1.35 crore on its 5 th day according to the early trade reports, and its domestic box office revenue was now 8.16 crore. Overall occupancy of the Hindi language in the film was 28.68 on Tuesday, and night shows had the largest turnout of 56.71. These statistics show that the film has continued to perform well in the urban markets, especially in multiplexes.

The initial five days of the film have revealed the existence of both consistent and stagnant growth. Although the collections in weekdays have slightly dropped from its initial weekend, The Taj Story is gradually approaching the 10 crore mark. The next weekend will be major in shaping its long term box office patterns.

The Taj Story is exposed to new competitors such as Haq and The Girlfriend which will release in the theatres in the near future. Nevertheless, the film has received great emotional depth, high word-of-mouth publicity, and a very effective acting by Paresh Rawal, and this factor is expected to make the movie stand its ground according to industry analysts.

When the movie maintains the current pace, it will be possible to have the movie cross the ₹10 crore mark in the coming days. In general, The Taj Story can be regarded as an example of good storytelling and effective acting, demonstrating that even a film purely driven by content can find its audience despite the difficulties of tough competition. The focus is now on the weekend figures to determine whether the movie will continue its consistent trend.
