Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ is unabatable at the box office. On the 13thday, the Anupam Kher starrer approaches the 200-crore club. In fact, it is predicted that the movie could easily set its business cross this much-coveted mark the second week in cinemas. The movie was a member of the elite 100 crore club in a week grossing higher than the much-acclaimed ventures.
The Kashmir Files has beaten Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif superhit film, Sooryavanshi which also brought in crazy numbers after the theatres were reopened. Having said that, the film has become the second highest-grossing film and the first of 2022 to cross Rs 200 cr.
Facts claim the movie has breached r4ecords set up Salman Khan and Katrina starrer Bharat which took two weeks to cross the mark, the Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior that took 15 days, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chennai Express that took 15, and of course the Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots that took 110 days to achieve this mark.
Despite, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey running in theatres, The Kashmir Files has been the first choice of the audience. Citing the film’s current momentum, analysts speculate the movie is likely to cross the Rs 250 crore mark in the coming days.
The film talks about the struggles faced by the Kashmiri Pundits in 1990, after being tortured by Pakistani activists.
