SRK has shown a thumb to the boycott trend with his spy thriller Pathaan. Despite protests, YRFs Pathaan has been pounding defeaning success.
On its second Monday of release, the Siddharth Anand directorial has earned Rs 28 crore in India, and will soon zoom past the Rs 550-crore mark at the India box office and Rs 850-crore mark worldwide. According to experts, Pathaan is also set to beat the Golden Globe winning movie RRR’s record in the US.
The 4th rendition of Tiger series had an extraordinary Sunday at the box office. The movie entered Rs 400 Crore club domestically from its Hindi version alone. No other Hindi-origin film has ever crossed the number over Rs. 400 Crore net.
Pathaan’ was released on January 25, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in lead roles. The film also featured Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in prominent roles. ‘Pathaan’ is directed by action-filmmaker Siddharth Anand and was bankrolled by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films.
Written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, the film revolves around an exiled RAW agent working with an ISI agent to take a former RAW agent-turned-traitor down, who is planning to spread a deadly lab-generated virus across India.
